The Surf Lodge is located at 299 Molesworth Drive, Mangawhai Heads, just minutes from the beach and the Mangawhai Estuary. It’s close to local shops, cafés, and walking tracks, and only a short drive to Te Arai Beach, one of New Zealand’s best surf spots.
The Surf Lodge offers a relaxed, beach-style stay with private rooms and entertaining spaces. Each room includes comfortable beds, fresh linen, towels, and access to multiple shared bathrooms, a full kitchen, and lounge areas.
The Lodge can comfortably host up to 17 guests, usually spread across a few bookings at a time. It’s perfect for families, surf groups, retreats, or corporate events. You can book individual rooms or the entire property for private stays.
Guests enjoy access to a shared kitchen, lounge and dining area, BBQ and outdoor spaces, and modern bathrooms. The Lodge also offers free Wi-Fi, secure parking, and easy access to surf lessons, equipment hire, and paddleboarding at the nearby Mangawhai Harbour.

Yes. You can book surf lessons, SUP tours, and equipment hire directly through Aotearoa Surf. We can arrange lessons at Te Arai or Mangawhai, and hire gear can be collected directly from the Lodge or our headquarters in Te Arai.
Bring your personal items, beach towel, swimwear, sunscreen, and food if you plan to cook. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there are supermarkets, cafés, and restaurants just a few minutes away.
