Do I need paddleboarding experience?

Not at all. Most of our guests are first-timers and standing confidently within 15 minutes. Your instructor will teach you everything from balance and paddle technique to turning and water safety.

Can I fall in?

Only if you want to! The goal is to stay dry, but falling in is part of the fun and completely safe. The water is calm and shallow, and our instructors are nearby at all times to help you back on the board.

Is paddleboarding suitable for kids?

Yes. Children aged 7 and over can usually paddle their own board. Younger children can ride with a parent or adult on request. Families love this experience as it’s safe, relaxing, and fun for all ages.

Can I book a private group?

Absolutely. Paddleboarding lessons and tours are perfect for corporate teams, birthdays, retreats, family outings, and school groups. We can adjust the pace and route to suit your group’s ability and confidence level.

Where do paddleboarding lessons take place?

Lessons and tours are held in the Mangawhai Harbour, using the calmest and safest areas depending on tide and conditions. It’s a beautiful, sheltered location ideal for beginners and families. We also are mobile and offer any Auckland or Northland location

How long does a paddleboarding lesson or tour run for?

Each session runs for around 2 hours, including the safety briefing, instruction, and time on the water. Private groups or tours can be extended by request.

What’s included in the paddleboarding experience?

Every booking includes a paddleboard, paddle, life jacket, and professional instruction. You just need to bring swimwear, sunscreen, a towel, and a water bottle.

What should I wear for paddleboarding?

We recommend wearing swimwear or light, quick-dry clothing. In cooler weather, we provide wetsuits free of charge. Don’t forget a hat and sunscreen.

What if the weather or tide conditions are bad?

We paddle in most conditions, but if the water is unsafe or too windy, we’ll reschedule to a better time or offer a credit or refund. Your safety and enjoyment always come first.
