1. We’re a passionate team
Not only do we teach surfing and ocean safety, but we live and breath it in our everyday lives as well. Where are we on our days off? At the beach!
2. We’ve got all the experience and qualifications!
All of our instructors are ISA certified and First Aid Trained. Aotearoa Surf is also Surfing NZ & Water Safety Accredited, OHS, Work Safe Rams and EOTC Compliant!
3. We’re easy on the environment

4. We have the sole operating licence to teach from New Zealand’s best beginner surf beach – Te Arai!
It’s only 60 minutes from Auckland and boasts the most consistent, fun waves on the East Coast!
5. We believe in empowering our guests
… not just teaching them how to stand up. A lot of surf schools sell your basic ‘surf lesson’. Unlike them, we aim to teach you how to surf by yourself. We give YOU the confidence and knowledge to be surfing on your own including ocean safety, understanding conditions, understanding your board, how to read the waves, we EMPOWER you.
6. We don’t discriminate – we truly believe surfing is for EVERYONE
Doesn’t matter if you grew up on the beach or 10 hours away from one, whether you’e old or young, fit or not! We can guarantee you will have an awesome time out there!
